WHAT IS THE PLAYING FORMAT?

As long as the League has an odd number of Clubs participating and if fixtures permit, each Team will never play on their home course, so no one has the "home advantage".  The playing format is Fourball Better Ball Matchplay. Each Team providing five pairs. The maximum handicap is 18, anyone with a higher handicap can play, but will have to play off 18. There is no lower handicap. (90% Handicap Difference on the Day)

Each winning pair will score one point for a win, and half for a half, each team that has an overall win will be awarded a two point win bonus.

In addition to the League, at the end of the season, every team will compete to win the EDGL CUP & Hamish Marshall Trophy, this is usually played at the venue of the previous League winners or on a round robin basis.

WHAT IS INCLUDED ON MATCH DAYS?

Each Hosting Club will provide Non Playing Match Administrator who will act as Starter on First Tee/Rules Official and Results Coordinator, Spotters on the Course (if needed), and the club will provide Sandwiches and Chips for each Fourball as they return into the clubhouse following their round.
